O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing was the amalgamation of two reputable brands, O’Brien and Laser Plumbing & Electrical. With a shared history dating back to 1983 as an electrical contractor in New Zealand, Laser Plumbing & Electrical mirrors the O’Brien journey. Expanding into the Australian market in 2004, it emerged as the leading electrical and plumbing contracting network in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2018, O’Brien and Laser Plumbing & Electrical united their expertise, giving rise to O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing. This collaboration enables us to offer a complete range of expert solutions to customers throughout Australia. At O’Brien, we believe that a happy, healthy, and supported team lies at the heart of a great organisation.
For instance, we have a health and wellbeing program to educate and engage our staff. We also actively promote our Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families, ensuring they have access to the support they need. Our rigorous safety program focuses on minimising risks for our staff, contractors, suppliers, and customers. Plus, we encourage our staff to speak up about any issues.

At O’Brien, every employee is given a day each year to dedicate to community service. This allows our people an opportunity to volunteer their time, effort and energy for a cause they are passionate about.
In addition, O’Brien employees are enthusiastic participants in annual charity fundraising events and causes such as The Push-Up Challenge, Camp Quality, FoodBank and Beyond Blue. O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing volunteers deliver a Taskforce project each year to help a local charity.
O’Brien® Australia is part of a global group called Belron® which supports the charity Afrika Tikkun, among others.

At O’Brien, we continually strive to minimise our business’ impact on the environment to protect it for future generations.
We are committed to reducing waste in all aspects of our service, whether it be through our recycling targets and commitments, our Repair First Policy in our vehicle glass division, or giving back to the community through our Sustainability Community Grants in Electrical and Plumbing.

We’re committed to national policies that improve working conditions locally and globally. We endeavour to understand the impact of our supply chain and actively collaborate with suppliers to eliminate modern slavery risks, publishing an annual report that tracks our progress.
